- Part of Makita's 18v LXT cordless platform, the DUX18 is a split shaft power head which was designed to be a basic, cost competitive model but with all the flexibility afforded by the Makita garden multi tool attachments.
- The DUX18 has a soft start brushless motor, electric brake, variable speed control, AFT technology and Constant Speed control to ensure consistent performance under load.
- The Makita EM404MP brushcutter attachment has a steel drive shaft for less vibration and a longer equipment life.

- The Makita EY403MP pole saw attachment is fitted with a 300mm chainsaw bar and includes a transparent oil tank as well as a branch hook for dislodging offcuts which get stuck in trees.
- The Makita EN402MP hedge trimmer attachment is fitted with a 500mm double-edged blade and
- an angle adjustable trimmer head which can be adjusted in 13 stages between 90° up and 90° down.
- The adaptable attachments are easily fitted with a tool-less slide joint coupling with a simple clip-lock fixing the attachment securely in place.
