- The DSP600 shares many similarities with the SP6000 but with the go-anywhere portability afforded by battery power.
- To generate enough power to drive the motor effectively, the machine uses two standard 18v LXT batteries, installed in series to give it a total of 36v - this enables performance comparable to the corded equivalent, while benefitting from the increased flexibility and convenience that cordless machines can provide on the jobsite.
- Like the SP6000, the DSP600 has an electric brake, soft start and depth stopper function for splinter-free cutting; it has also been fitted with a brushless motor to ensure maximum runtime from the batteries, and includes Makita's Automatic Torque Drive technology: a performance regulating system that automatically adjusts the cutting speed according to load condition, helping to ensure consistent results in all materials.
