- Makita's CXT range comprises of compact professional power tools which use slide on 12v lithium ion batteries.
- These are available in higher capacities than the older stick type batteries, and have multi-contact terminals to ensure a solid connection when exposed to vibration and impacts.
- Additionally, they have overload protection circuitry and can be used in extreme cold, down to -20°C.
- The TM30D has variable speed control and a soft start circuit which brings the motor up to full power without jolting or jarring on startup, while the ergonomic housing provides a comfortable grip surface for controlled operation.
- For user safety the TM30D also has restart protection, which prevents a live tool from automatically switching back on in instances where power is temporarily lost (for example if the battery is swapped out).
